    A deep dive on maximizing impact and succeeding as a team when it comes to your proposal strategy 
     
    The evolution of proposal development continues at a rapid pace.  Even as we face the challenges of the pandemic, the AEC industry continues to raise the bar on what is expected and what can be delivered in the RFP process.  Join us for a panel discussion that will shed light on what clients are really looking for beyond the numbers and how technical and marketing staff can collaborate to succeed together. 
     
    You will hear from a diverse panel of experts that include: Margaret Hewitt, MetroHealth, Julie Criscione, JMC, Eric Campbell, Senior Project Manager, Whiting-Turner 
    Jennifer Wahl, CPSM, Director of Business Development, Karpinski Engineering. They will share their insights and best practices on what the Winning RFP looks like and how your firm can deliver one.

    Jeff Meyers, Cheif Executive Officer, DS Architecture

    Jeffrey Meyers graduated with a master's degree in Architecture and a Certificate of Urban Design from Kent State University. He joined David Sommers & Assocites shortly thereafter, and by the age of 30 was asked to become a partner due not only to his competence but his enthusiams and drive as well.  Jeffrey whole-heartedly advocates the concept of a culture based design firm, oriented around people while constantly pursuing design excellence. 

     

     

     

    Panelist:

    Margaret Hewitt, Director of Planning, Design & Construction, MetroHealth 

    Margaret Hewitt is currently the Director of Planning, Design & Construction for the MetroHealth System. MetroHealth is one of the major healthcare systems in Northeast Ohio. Margaret has a degree in architecture from the University of Illinois and has been in the construction industry for thirty years. She is a LEED Accredited and Envision Sustainability Professional.

    Ms. Hewitt has been involved in more than $8 Billion of construction over her career. As an Owner’s Representative she has constructed courthouses for the Illinois Supreme Court, convention space for The Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, K-12 schools for Chicago Public Schools, Cincinnati Public Schools and Akron Public Schools, hospitals for University Hospitals of Cleveland.

    She is also the CEO and Founder of The Construction Green Team. She started the company with a passion for improving the impact of construction on our environment. 

    Julie Criscione, AIA, Managing Owner JMC Owner’s Rep Service, LLC

    Julie Criscione, AIA, launched JMC Owner’s Rep Service, LLC in 2016 with a commitment to assist non-profit organizations and institutions with building projects that provide the best outcome and value. Julie is a registered architect and skilled owner’s representative with experience in all aspects of architectural planning and management, working on projects ranging in budget from $500K to $150M. As a longtime resident of East Cleveland, Julie actively strives to support the unique needs of her community.

    Eric Campbell, Senior Project Manager Whiting-Turner Construction Company

    Eric Campbell is a Senior Project Manager with the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.   Eric received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2000 and joined Whiting-Turner directly after graduation.  Over Eric’s 20 year career with Whiting-Turner he has focused mainly on managing mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems and has worked in the Cleveland market for the past 15 years.  His current responsibilities include leading various project teams as well as serving as the Regional MEP coordinator for the Midwest region.  He has had extensive involvement in marketing and pursuing new work, and his efforts have helped multiple teams be successful in finding new work and developing existing client relationships.

    Eric is the Immediate Past President of the Ohio Chapter for CMAA, and continues to provide input and assistance to the board and its committees.

    Jennifer Wahl, CPSM Director of Business Development, Karpinski Engineering
     
    Jennifer Wahl cultivates Karpinski Engineering’s doer-seller culture. She works with the KE team to pursue opportunities for client development and thought leadership.
     
    Jennifer understands how to get things done and advance in the workplace. Her 23 years in the industry encompass marketing for all three letters of A/E/C – architecture, engineering, and construction. She has worked as a one-woman department cranking out proposals, led a marketing team to deepen their contributions to the firm, and served as an internal business advisor to ownership.  
     
    She is a founding member of the SMPS Northeast Ohio Chapter, is a member of the national SMPS Professional Development Advisory Committee, and is a Certified Professional Services Marketer.
