    Tammy Polenz, Integration Manager of Active Design - LevelHEADS

    Tammy has over 25 years of experience encompassing competitive fitness, authorship (Think Fit 2 Be Fit), business ownership (Vedas Fitness & Vedas Living), fitness equipment procurement and planning, along with gym, salon and spa design. 
     
    Tammy brings a uniquely progressive perspective to projects revolving around integration of Active Design and Evidence-Based architectural strategies. She provides a Fit-Well overlay to levelHEADS’ Architecture and Interiors practice whereby her design approach produces healthy environments that have positive long-term health impacts on people. Tammy’s philosophy is that the world sustains human life, therefore improving the health of the individual must extend into the environment for people to ‘be fit’ and have better quality of life.

     

    Panelists:

    Joe Kapitan – Director of Design and Construction, Regional/Ambulatory at Sodexo Healthcare/University Hospital

    Joe Kapitan, AIA, NCARB has 33 years of management experience in the design and construction industry, in a variety of roles including architect, construction manager and owner’s representative. He specializes in proactive, risk-management-based owner representation, program management and schedule management. For the past six years, Joe has focused exclusively on the healthcare sector, successfully directing multiple projects in the $25M-$75M range for clients Southwest General Health Center, Allegheny Health Network and University Hospitals Health System. In his current role as Director of Design and Construction for the UH Regional/Ambulatory network, Joe leads a team of four project managers. Together, they plan and direct construction projects throughout the University Hospitals regional and ambulatory footprint, which includes eleven regional hospitals and hundreds of ambulatory sites covering ten northeast Ohio counties. 

    Craig Weise, Chief of Projects – Ohio Facilities Construction Commission

    Craig Weise is chief of projects for the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission. Previously, Weise served the State of Ohio as program director of Construction Reform, state architect with the Department of Administrative Services, and held various positions at the Ohio School Facilities Commission including chief of projects, deputy chief of projects and project administrator. Weise has a bachelor’s degree in architecture, dual master’s degrees in architecture and construction engineering and management, and an MBA.

     

    Brenden Shea, Vice President of Project Management  - Signet Real Estate Group

    Brenden Shea serves as Vice President for Signet’s Real Estate Development Group, where he is responsible for all strategic and operational functions of project management, which provides expertise to all real estate development and third party capital construction projects.  In his role, Brenden continues to foster collaboration with clients in order to exceed their expectations with schedule, fiscal savings and client-specific objectives on projects.

    Brenden began his career at one of the nation’s largest construction management companies in Cleveland, OH.  He graduated from the University of Dayton with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and is an active member in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction community.
